I’ve been toying with the idea of creating a Substack for a while. I say that but a chunk of that time was spent just reading and admiring other people’s work and feeling like I would just have to settle for being a spectator because I’m certainly not a writer. I spent more and more time on the app on my phone, reading posts I was served that shared thoughts, opinions and expertise on fashion and style in many different formats from the pristine editorial longer form posts to the more simplified blog style posts - all of which I enjoy immensely. All of this just made me feel more and more that sometimes, just sometimes, I have more to say and so I began to consider what a Substack written by me might look like.
You need to know now that the perfectionist in me raised a red flag immediately. Things like this have to look a certain way, all conditions have to be just right before I even make a start after all!! Then I remembered an extract I had screenshot months before from a beautifully written post I had read entitled Leave room for the amateur by
for“…see the benefits in not being so sure, so established. See how the need to be perfect or make comparisons with others who seem to have it all figured out often paralyses us…letting go of those things can lead to improvement, growth, and even fun.”
So with that being said, welcome to my Substack entitled A few good things… as I hope that’s exactly what it will be for you and for me.
The newsletter will be a curated blend of style and inspiration. Casual and conversational, I plan to share my thoughts on fashion and style, my 2 cents if you will. I’m excited to see where it goes and I hope you find it useful. Below are a few ideas for content I will share on here.
Things that I’m inspired by
Mood boards and outfits I’ll be recreating
Sharing my recent purchases and how I’ll style them
Styling ideas and what I’m wearing
Seasonal must haves
Sale edits
My wish list items
I’m sure I’ll come up with lots more as soon as I post this but if any of that sounds like it could be of interest then I would love for you to hit the subscribe button and follow along with me.
